Think we can be pretty confident if it comes down to to the goal kicking. None of our kickers look like they'll miss a shot all tour at the moment!

Who do people expect to be kicking?

Regardless of fly-half I think it should be Halfpenny most of the time.

Think I still prefer Spurs to win it. It is in this series ultimately down to team play v James and Wade. Ginobili was woeful btw. Spurs need him to up his game.

What happened to Roberts?

Most played well tbh. Probably only Heaslip and Maitland who struggled a touch. Jonathan Davies was excellent, Zebo looked very sharp, Halfpenny class as usual. The pack went well.

Roberts has some sort of hamstring injury, no word on how serious yet. Davies-BOD is still a quality midfield pairing, or Tuilagi if fit.

Think I'd maybe stick Tuilagi in at 12 for the extra weight and power, gotta shut down that channel, not sure if he's ever played inside centre before though. Should be some intense competition between Tuilagi and Davies though 🙂

Jones had a stormer - think he & O'Connell will start now.

Lions have called up Wade, Barritt, and, amazingly, Shane Williams for the Brumbies game. Tipuric & Faletau starting that one, so a good chance today's back 3 will start vs Wallabies next week.

Though Shane Williams was retired? Or was that only from internationals? Apparently he was supposed to be in Australia commentating on the first test anyway. Twelvetrees was also called up the other day.

He's playing in Japan at the moment.

Christ, what's the level like in Japan? 😆

Surely he won't be up to speed? Sounds ridiculous tbh.

All I know is that the level in Japan is good enough to produce a team that beat an awful welsh development side yesterday. Think they're investing with the world cup coming up in a few years.

Suspect it's because the lions have so many players who are doubtful for the first test but likely to return shortly thereafter - no point continuing to ruin respective national tours for one game against the Brumbies, when the Lions have a full side for the first test,& already plenty of cover thereafter.

Williams playing one game then leaving the tour? Weird development, but like Asa I can see the logic.

Made some changes (in bold) - that's what I think the first text XV will be. Think North will make it, almost certainly - hope Gatland is just realistic with his 'real' fitness level.

Tuilagi for me but it sounds like he's in doubt too so it will probably be Davies to start with Tuilagi on the bench.

I would go Davies. Tuilagi is not as comfortable at 12 and Davies just looks like such a smart rugby player. My suspicion is that there's not as much doubt over Tuilagi and North as is being reported. Think they're both being protected.

By the by, looks like there's a good chance i'll miss the first test. My wife is going to be induced in to labour on Saturday morning if nothing happens during the week. Knew I'd miss some sort of major sporting event with this bloody child birth malarkey.

Whats Davies like at 12? I always expected O Driscoll to move to inside centre in his 30's but i don't think he's even played one game there.
