That's fantastic. I was wondering, there were a few pole vaults and high jump final where the athletes were made to go again to decide who gets gold. Why did they allow 2 golds this time?

Barshim just asked for it. Apparently he got a bronze like that before too. It was great to see. That was a good contest too. Tamberi is very entertaining to watch and was basically congratulating every winner he could find at the end of their races too. Rojas breaking the triple jump record was quite exciting too, she was way ahead of the rest.

It went on for a long time and they had the 100m final coming up where they turn off the lights and do all the fancy stuff for the introductions. If they had insisted on carrying on I don't know what would have happened.

Barshim did ask for it but I'm pretty sure time constraints were the reason they were given the chance in the first place.

Well no one was jumping higher, it would have been a jump off with the heights getting lower. Bit of a shit way to end it anyway. It should be who can jump highest, not who has the most stamina or whatever.

From what I've read it's not uncommon for athletes from the same country to share Gold, doesn't happen too often when the winners are from different countries. Heart warming stuff tbf.

Springboks silence the Lions and took the tour 2-1. Twas a series with a real nasty edge but Morne Steyn's heroics at 37 and a bit of exceptional play from Chelsin Kolbe edged the decider last night. Worth a watch.
