Klaus I feel people are selling Barcola well short. He has more in common with Henry back when he used to play on the wing (and unsurprisingly Thierry is a fan) than he does with Martinelli, and I think he's going to make big strides in his technical development over the next 2-3 seasons.
I'm not saying he's going to be the next Henry or the next Dembele, but I think he's more similar to that type of player than he is to the limited wingers people worry about. Seems to have a top head on his shoulders too.
Honestly their similarities start and end with both players being black French wingers with blistering pace. For one Thierry has always been a good finisher, you need only look at his goals when he was younger has the same side foot finish to the corner.
One must also remember that even Thierry at Arsenal did not have a lot in common with Thierry when he was playing on the wing. He used to be a kick and chase merchant and had to work tremendously hard at his close control, dribbling and technique, to become the best player in PL history. Something which sort of comes naturally to Barcola. However it's easier to teach that than it is to teach someone how to compose themselves near the goal.
Edit: btw that tweet reads like it's been made up using AI or something.
