Great player for us that we got for relative peanuts. Scored some really important goals for us. Nothing bad to say about him, and i'm glad he's getting his last big payday. Happy that he was able to lift the Prem trophy with us and we even got a few bucks for him. His performance at the WC certainly didnt hurt, he was one of Belgiums best players.

Think it's a big mistake: we're unlikely to find a creative winger as good. He was so vital to us while Saka was out. Morgan was not anywhere near that level last season, and I doubt he will be there next season either if he comes in, even if he might score a goal or two more.

I appreciate this might've been Leo's wish though and I think he has earned the right to have a big payday. Superb player. I only wish we had signed him years earlier.

Klaus he's been a good player and leaves a cult hero but I think you're overrating him a bit there. Look at his numbers, year over year they've decline steadily and he's frequently had patches of poor form both this season and the last.

You can just look at his player thread and the sentiment both last summer and March 2026 is pretty telling.

Will miss Trossard, I don't think that many were excited when we signed him but he quickly showed what a player he was. So many important goals and performances for us, big games this guy showed up time and time again.

I think that is what it is, he's done right by us and now we are doing right by him. His marriage broke down recently so personally has gone through a bad time so might just want a fresh start, also he deserves that last big payday.

Mirth Look at his numbers

He was our third most productive player last season I think, but I don't care that much about the numbers. Iniesta barely scored or assisted either. There are other things we needed from him than end product. I think his impact on our play was very obvious, especially as we missed Saka for long spells which I think we will again next season.

Creative wingers are so hard to find, let alone with Trossard's technical ability. We better hope Dowman is ready for the big scene next season because in the current squad there's no one else behind Saka who can give us this dimension.

Klaus the numbers are a relative measure to Trossard’s own peak. Iniesta was never a high scoring player to show a decline through end product.

The sentiment that he was adding a lot to our overall game is dubious as well. His overall play was not great in 24/25 which is why most folks were against him getting a pay bump. He then had a good spell till December 2025 and dropped off again. It’s classic player in decline.

Klaus Dowman won't be ready. I refuse to factor him into much.

Mirth I think as I've said before even a Trossard at his age was adding more then pretty much all the other midfielders bar maybe Saka and it was more then the numbers. His technical level we just don't have enough of in this team and we have lost more with Trossard. A really good player for us and we need to up the technical quality big time this summer.

Are you conflating the Emerson Nwaneri news to say this shows Eze will be sold, or are these two completely separate things in your post? If so where is the confirmation Eze is going to Brentford? I'm a bit confused sorry.

as an aside, Emerson Nwaneri is 15.

Asterix He's being sarcastic, some believe the addition of Eze has hindered Nwaneri pathway into the team so his brother would probably leave. Supposedly Nwaneri's family have been difficult and may be pushing for him to move.

He's a professional Eze hater 😉

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert

I think he will get more minutes this season. Not full first team minutes, but Arteta will be less hesitant to bring him on as a sub late in a game, and he will be another year older and hopefully stronger.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert the alternative in the early parts of the season will be Madueke and I know who'd I prefer to see on the right for us between those two.

USArsenal Saka will be out for a few months as we know but Madueke is going to be at the world cup for 2 more games. He'll need an extended break too. Very strong chance that Max starts the Charity Shield and maybe Coventry as well.

I'd say Saka needs a couple of months at least, but won't get it. Probably 4 weeks at most then comes off the bench in the Community Shield then starts against Coventry.

He'd better not play in the 3rd placed game.

Ideally he should be rested till sometime in October. Let Nwaneri start and prove himself or go out on loan. Madueke is a lost cause in my mind so who cares.
