Not only that but selling both Trossard and Martinelli in the same summer, only to go out and bring in Tzolis and whoever else is available, just isn’t something Arteta would do, unless that someone was Vini or someone on that level.
Letting Trossard and Martinelli both leave while bringing in Tzolis and another new winger would mean relying on two players who will likely need time to bed in, with all the ups and downs that come with that.
Even their biggest critics would probably admit that Trossard and Martinelli know the role, understand the demands, and can do a decent enough job (even if neither is spectacular). Replacing both in one window makes very little sense, and even less so when you consider Vini is off the table and what the remaining options we are being linked to look like.
