Don't think me a nob but I saw you saying a few times that we wouldn't be able to beat Mexico because of their record in the Azteca and it irked me. 😂
So I looked into it the other day and in terms of matches played since 2020 (couldn't be arsed to look further back) they have:
(a) Played 14 matches at the Azteca since 2020. They've actually played a lot of home fixtures at other stadiums.
(b) The calibre of teams they've played at the Azteca is primarily the Guatemalas and Honduras of world football. So they don't really play tough fixtures there, certainly not in competitive fixtures (ie. a function of their geography).
In other words, the thing that bothered me is that I think the hype about their record at the Azteca was another case of misuse of data (not from you, from the media). If platforms are going to make these hyperbolic points using data, then there needs to be more context - they don't play all that many games at the Azteca and the vast majority of matches are against very weak opposition.
