Gutted for Cape Verde. Some heroic performances out there and what a goal. Is there any reason Argentina even with Messi had to rely on 2 set pieces, which ruin the game and morally don't count, to beat the minnows? 🤷♂️
As someone else said earlier, if there had been any danger of Cape Verde actually winning FIFA would probably have stepped into make sure Messi got a penalty or something. Probably the game of the tournament so far.
Thought Australia were the better team against Egypt. Been very impressed with Herrington throughout but didn't think an 18 year old defender was the best option for a penalty. It also needs people to step forward though so maybe other more senior players or attackers wouldn't step up. Swapping the keeper was a big call when Beach had a great game. What a save in injury time.
Looking at the draw it looks pretty nailed on for a rematch of the last final.
