I think choosing to be defensive as he did for the remaining 35 minutes or whatever made it highly likely you will concede at least one. That's a stupid contribution from a manager. Cesc gave an interview last season talking about the mindset you send to players 1-9 up when you make defensive subs that essentially the whole team react as oh the coach wants us to defend and gets deeper invites pressure and the majority of the time it backfires. i don't think it's some major secret but if tuchel doesn't realise that then he's not good enough.

Gurgen After England scored. If they come out against Spain the way they played the first half against England it'll be over before they even get started. England were too concerned about matching Argentina’s physicality, Spain wont care. They'll just play their own game.

Qwiss Argentina absolutely looked good when England sat in their penalty box with no pressure and a team of defenders who cannot keep the ball. As long as Spain don't sit back they should avoid England's mistakes and they didn't approach the France game like that au I would be surprised if they did.

Plus Cucurella and Rodri are in good form so I don’t think Messi will be able to have as much of an influence as he did yesterday

Don't think there is nearly enough talk about how big a miss Saka was for England. In the Euros it was him and Bellingham bailing them out over and over. None of their wide players on either side, even those left at home are close at all.

Mirth I think from my own experience most people didn't know Saka has injuries. Partly caused by the fact he was in the squad and played so it doesn't tally with the idea he's having significant injury issues. Anyways is a problem for England and Arsenal I fear we may not see the Saka I was hoping he would develop into as he's really been inhibited by all this. He's still makes an impact because it's his quality but his ability to break and the powerful acceleration he used to have looks gone and that was a big part of his job quality in attack.

Mirth Maguire would have made zero difference to England. I seen people moaning about Burn again yesterday but he proved worth his place as 4th choice CB against Norway. None of who Tuchel didn't bring would have changed anything.

This generation of English players is chock full of 10s who could have played almost any generation for England and then Rice. Kanes time is pretty much over and there are no other top strikers there with none coming through. Its time to pivot to Max and Ngumoha as wide options IMO. Not starters yet but this is when I'd start integrating them.

England also have a terrible crop of defenders relative to the norm. There are no Adams, Terry, Sol, Rio, etc types there any more. No England defender would get into our team for instance. Have they anyone coming through who could reach that level apart from Salmon, and he'll still only be 20 next world cup.

awooga83 Saka is 24 and he's one of the best RWs in the world. There is no real development left to happen. Its just a case of getting him fit and at his best again.

Qwiss I think playing defenders who don't want the ball and in the game state they were in absolutely become more panicky is a total fuck up. Bring on Rashford and Mainoo, I'm not arguing that these guys are elite but they are more comfortable on the ball and offer Argentina something to have to worry about. Defenders are shit at passing so they are never going to give you any control. The outcome of that was always going to be Argentina goals. I've never seen an outcome so obviously down to mismanagement by the coach and then not willing to correct it.

Qwiss I disagree he's not in the elite category for me. I was hoping he would step up to be our talisman and get goals 25 or so in seasons.i no longer think that's likely with how he's looking post injury and he cannot really beat defenders with pace anymore he struggles to get away dvd that inhibits his game.

awooga83 he never really beat defenders with pace. He beat them with flair and good footwork and he will does that now.
