He couldn’t get the best out of Belgium and for Portugal decided to put C.Ronaldo’s farewell tour at the heart of his plans rather than the country. Probably be last World Cup for the likes of Bruno & Bernardo as well, can’t imagine they’ll be too happy
Ronaldo had a chance to be a hero and do the right thing but he’s always only been in it for himself. His obsession has made him great but also his downfall in the end. He could have been in the squad and been a leader off the pitch, guided them and probably got some minutes but his ego won’t allow that. He has to be the sole focus and has to be all about him. Martinez too weak to bench him and probably told by higher ups that he needs to start him.
