Any good defender can play in our 'high line'. You dont need to be quick.
With the way our team goes about protecting the defence, I'd argue speed and agility are very important attributes in our defenders right now. Speed always helps regardless of the system.
Pace is always nice to have regardless of position, but if you're a good defender you can play in a high line no trouble. See Fat Sol from last season.

In all seriousness, with the way our team has functioned in the last few months, any weakness in a defenders game would be ruthlessly exposed.
True, nowadays, if a forward is past you he is gone for the most part no matter who you are. It's about limiting those situations by reading the game and getting your positioning right.

Samba would be exposed for what he is if he signed for us. And that is, imo, a limited defender who flatters to conceive. Yes he's a big fella and will win plenty of headers but Blackburn play a very deep line, he would be roasted in our system with the high line we play.

To be fair I think bringing Samba in could be a very reproductive decision.
