i like how arteta said about dec that he thought he would cost less, but he doesn't get involved in that and leaves the financial part to the other guys. if he was butting in and saying no don't go up to 100m (that's what wenger would do once he established what HE thinks a player is worth)... they wouldn't go up that high. arteta doesn't give them an out, says who he would like and then stays in his lane.

Meatwad It is good he picked up on this early. Even though that season we finished 5th and UEFA cup final it was quite clear things were not headed in the right direction. The next season it all imploded but the season before we missed out on CL by one point and lost 4 and drew 1 of our last 7 games and then battered in that final. I think that coincided with Ramsey getting injured as he had been carrying us but things didn't feel right.

Meatwad When Dein left it felt like the club merged his role with Wenger's job. Far too many decisions that Dein would be making ended up with Wenger and it definitely distracted him. I think Wenger also got caught up with this we make stars not buy them narrative.

Also very nice he gave a shout out to Sir Chips Keswick, he played a big part in helping secure financing for the new stadium.

Meatwad I think Josh alluded to that as well - Wenger was basically the sporting director, CEO and coach all in one and it wasn’t sustainable. Gazidis did nothing.

JazzG -- I would love to see the average value (.1 xG, .2 xG, etc.) for our chances. My suspicion is that we created a large volume of low percentile chances by dominating possession/field. But we so rarely created great scoring chances.

Here's what I'm wondering - is there more variance in low quality chances or high quality chances?

For example, are 10 .1xG chances more or less likely to amount to 1 goal than 3 .33xG chances (breakaways)?

Add one healthy Bukayo Saka for the full season and our attack would be head and shoulders above the others too.

Klaus Agreed, not enough is spoken about the sheer number of injuries we've had and still managed to win the league.

Klaus still worry about what Saka we will have going forwards, the healthy one may be pre injury and post might be something different not forgetting the world cup to come as well.
