Did anyone else think Alvarez was pretty much anonymous tonight? He was more more involved in the first leg, but we kinda kept him shut down in this game, so much so that he was subbed off after 66 mins (along with Griezmann).
As much as they were trying to press and figure out how to attack us in the latter part of the game, they had no idea what to do. Lumping into the box was easily being cleared out by our defenders, attacks down the side were being chased down by our forwards or midfielders. Trying to go through the middle was being mopped up and cleared out. Big Gab went down at a couple of key moments to ease the pressure and give us a breather (gotta love those 'dark arts'). One moment of sheer craziness from Saliba aside (when he almost handed them a goal, but Gab bailed him out), our defense was rock solid
Special mention to Benny... Finally looked more like Benny of 2 years ago tonight. Defended well, combined with Saka a little, probably his best game for us in quite some time.
