Burnwinter I suspended g89 and indeed it's a time limited ban, not a permanent one.
You all get a lot of leeway on here, especially during games when emotions are running high. But although it may sometimes seem otherwise, to use an analogy, this is not a town square, it's my back garden. The price of admission is that you make an effort to get along and try to read the room, try to gauge how you are being received by your fellow members of the community. If someone indicates to you that they don't like what you're posting, some sign that you're willing to acknowledge that goes a long way, even if you think they're wrong, because in the end it's not about who is right or wrong. I don't really care what your opinions on football are, you can have a brilliant analytical understanding of the game or be the village idiot, what I care about is are you willing show other posters enough respect to try to be flexible enough to fit into this (small) community.
Because that's what it is, a community. We have mostly been together here for decades, and I keep the lights on here (just about) for the connections and bonds with you guys, not for anything else. There are plenty of better places on the Internet for getting Arsenal news, venting or finding an audience for your opinions, so I hope the reason you guys keep coming here is because of the connections to each other as well. That's why, outside of the mitigating circumstances of a game, if I see someone calling others cunts and ignoring opportunities to take a step back, it tells me they don't really value the community here, and then I reluctantly issue suspensions. Which again, are generally temporary because if someone feels genuine connections to folks on here, I really don't want to deny them that. But being on here comes with some responsibilities.
