Don Pacifico signs were there last year to be honest, but self pity around refereeing issues and injuries just masked it. It was just assumed we’d be back to the old 23/24 team once a few players got up to speed.
That team is gone.
I’m not sure what this one is.
I don’t even think I’m that annoyed by the actual game itself today. Strung out by the result but in the first half we did well, way better than anyone might have expected, but the failure to create real chances from the positive play, take the few that eventually did come, and lack any ability to kick on in the second half was all too predictable.
As Qs said (here or elsewhere, not sure where I read it) today wasn’t the issue. Bournemouth was. Win against Bournemouth and we’d have arrested the slide in a crisis and have taken the pressure off here.
Gabriel’s headbutt incident tells me a lot about where the mentality is.
