I have to say, watching Diomande last night moved me. He is the epitome of a risky signing with both his price tag (100m+), age (19) and inexperience having only played one Bundesliga season. However, the talent just jumps off the pitch. He left Hincapie for dead a few times in the first half by simply sizing him up at a standstill and then taking 2-3 strides and getting past him. He looks like a combination between Semenyo with his long strides and Doku with is quick acceleration and played on both wings. I know he's not the safe choice and Liverpool and PSG are way ahead in pursuing him but there is definitely a small part of me that thinks if there is any time to gamble on a potential top 5 talent in the world, this might be it.
We have the money and he's likely to cost just as much as Barcola. I'm sure there's a chance that come this time next year, we are talking about how we dodged a bullet with him but I also think there's a chance that we really regret not taking a chance on him. He could potentially transform our left wing and provide good cover at right wing too. I'm probably caught up in the hype but having a 1v1 demon like that in our team would be so fun.
