Sicario2 it’s water under the bridge now. He probably would’ve helped us around the same amount as Gyokeres did but in a different fashion. Now it might have made a difference last season if we had signed him in January but impossible to know.

Love all the talk about investing more, creating a dynasty and needing elite individuals. This summer is about raising the ceiling.

Not sure who we get but I think the areas that we need to address to have that wow factor are left side of the attack, attacking midfielder and striker in that order.

For the creative spark I think we may turn to Guler.

Have a feeling Zubimendi may move on.

Love him to bits - he’s found it hard going at the tail end of the season, but he’s class. Not convinced life in England is his cup of tea though

Very much doubt he'll move on. There's just no merit in shifting a player that good unless he's gone on strike.

He's looked a bit zombified down the tail end of the season. Then again everyone who plays that many minutes in a Mikel Arteta side wears a permanent rictus snarl of pain. Might not be overjoyed Skelly was preferred to him in the CL final, but on the other hand he might be thrilled there could be someone else to pick up the minutes next season.

We are definitely getting at least one midfielder. Tonali makes sense as i see as a alternative to Rice. I can see a MF duo of Zubimendi and Tonali when Rice needs rest.

I have no clue what Arteta wants from his attack. I think our problems were more due to injury than personnel. We do need a good RB or even two full backs.

Sounds like Bayern and PSG are asking about Martinelli. I think the time is now to upgrade him to a better option as our runner winger on the left. Ideally I'd like to get someone with a bit more playmaking and ability/desire to beat their man 1v1. Barcola certainly has his flaws as we saw on Saturday but I'd love to have his speed on the left and believe he's a better 1v1 player than Martinelli is. If we are truly serious about upgrading the attack, turning Martinelli and Trossard into a better runner profile and a younger ball to feet winger (or moving Eze to the wing full time) would be a great start.

Barcola and Yildiz in, Martinelli and Trossard out. Seems very ambitious and clearly depends on if PSG and Juve are willing to sell. I think we could get between 60-90m (conservatively) for the combo of Martinelli & Trossard. I'd imagine Barcola and Yildiz would cost between 130-170m so we could offset about half of that cost with those sales.

We're not selling anyone who doesn't ask to leave in order to get more playing time. That could easily be no one. At most Norgaard Jesus and Kepa, none of whom will generate income (and Jesus we'll probably have to do a partial buy-out).

RowJimmy Respectfully disagree, I think we will sell at least one of Martinelli/Trossard. Every single source has said we are looking to bring in a left winger this summer. We aren't going to keep 3 left wingers while also bringing in a youth prospect in Jeremy Monga. Someone will leave.

Players move for more money, more playing time, better chance at winning honors, and very rarely in order to return home or some such. Which of these do you think is motivating Martinelli or Trossard to agree to leave?

He's not good enough to qualify for "getting Ramsdaled". It's more like he would be "getting Pablo Mari-ed". Eze would be "getting Ramsdaled".

lorddulaarsenal Personally I'd push for this - just don't think he's at the level we need, especially as we push on for more silverware. I just don't see it happening given the book value he has - we would need to be okay basically taking a loss on him if we sold him for anywhere near where we bought him. I think it would be worth it to bring in an Alvarez or Kroupi but I doubt we do it.

Doesnt matter though, with what we have acheive this season, we probably in a position to absorb him and Madueke in the squad for a few seasons... cant do the same this summer though.. Just sign a top striker and everything will sort itslef out.

RowJimmy I'd imagine getting recruited over would push them out the door. We don't need to sell them but I'm sure we've told them and their agents we are looking to bring in a marquee left winger (as well as a very highly rated 16 year old) and their playing time will continue to diminish. That would likely push one if not both out of the door. You could've made the exact same argument on why Luis Diaz wouldn't have left Liverpool last summer but he did and I expect similar for Martinelli in particular.
