Leao is a worse player with Martinelli. He just has better peaks due to his overall skill level so he looks better in isolated highlight clips. I am quite convinced he would not be successful for us and would be a wasted signing.

Gordon is a very good player but I'm not sure he's an upgrade or what we really need.

arteta has no eye for magic forwards. its always bland utilitarian options. which is why i think the gordon links make alot of sense

Gazza M what I think he struggles with is that elite forwards can come with big personalities, be challenging to manage and may not have much interest in doing the defensive gruntwork that Arteta expects from his attacking players. While time has proved he was right to have moved him on, I suspect that there may have been some truth in what Aubameyang said about Mikel.

Gordon would've been a great signing a season or two ago but we've outgrown him in my opinion. I don't see what he does that's better than Martinelli. Both are fast wingers who work extremely hard out of possession, are good finishers and flawed 1v1 players. Personally, I'd just keep Martinelli and look to add a different option to him so we can rotate both of them, along with Eze. The one think I'd be looking to add is elite 1v1 ability.

I'd be very interested in: Morgan Rogers, Yan Diomande, Illiman Ndiaye, Jean-Matteo Bahoya probably in that order although Ndiaye is fast becoming someone I think would skyrocket in a proper team.

Gordon is a much better ball carrier than a lot of people realise. He can change direction with ease and disguises it well. He may not be the smoothest looking but he’s a brilliant mix of excellent technique, elite athleticism, desire to win and finishing ability

He’s a weapon against big teams. Miles clear of those wingers listed. Ndiaye is easy on the eye but lacks power to excel at the very top

lorddulaarsenal I don't think he's similar to Martinelli at all. He's much more of a ball carrier and does a lot similar to Saka just not at as high a level. I think he's more creative than Martinelli too. However he'd probably score less and I'm not sure how he'd cope with being out of the game for periods as often happens our LW. Martinelli is great at just keeping on making the runs, tracking, pressing, etc where as Trossard comes deep and tries to get into it from there.

I do rate Gordon. If Trossard wanted to go and we had a list I'd have no problem with him being on it but he shouldn't be top.
