This will never happen but I think my dream end to the window would be:
- Jesus, Vieira, Nelson all sold. I don't care about the fees as freeing the squad places and not carrying dead money are all that matters.
- Nwaneri goes on loan to a mid-table EPL team to get good experience.
- Gyokeres is sold. Again, not too picky about the fee - would hope to get around 50-60m just to cover our initial spend but don't need to make a profit. We have heard rumors of Atletico and Barca interest and maybe him starting on the bench for the start of the season will make him think of leaving as Kai is the #1 option when healthy.
- Martinelli is kept but used more as ST depth behind Kai as another option to Merino and a much different profile. We all have loved the glimpses of Gabi moving through the middle and I still think there's a CF in there.
- Buy Yildiz as another LW option along with Tzolis and Martinelli. Yildiz can be introduced slowly to get him used to the league and we can also use him at CF in certain situations since I think he has potential to be a RVP type striker in the future.
You'd have Tzolis, Yildiz, Martinelli and Eze as options off the left. Kai, Merino, Martinelli and Yildiz would be options centrally. Saka, Madueke, Dowman would be options off the right. I'm biased as I just really don't enjoy watching Gyokeres, even though I respect what he gave us last year and that he was a piece of the puzzle that delivered the title. I just think we are a much better side without him, as long as we have good options to take his place. And then we can get a decent look at what Martinelli can bring to the table as a ST backup and if it doesn't work out, move him on next summer or in January.
