Pepe LeFrits I wouldn't be surprised if Dowman solves the problem before too long by forcing himself into the first team reckoning, but on the right wing and with Saka moving across.
I've been thinking that this might be a viable solution too. We can't keep Max out for more than another season or so and Saka can play everywhere. He's our best right winger, our best left winger, best playmaker, best second striker. In a couple years he'll probably take a step into the pitch and be a revelation centrally.
The big reason not to do it is that we've built everything around Saka's presence on the right but I feel that's changing. There are also excellent reasons to protect Dowman for as long as possible and let him finish school like a normal kid, but soon he'll be the same age Saka and Nwaneri were when they broke through.
