I think from Vinicius POV he looks at Mbappe getting a custom made deal which involves him retaining a large amount of commercial and then looks at himself being a key play for Real Madrid over the past 5 years.
Vini Jr is averaging nearly 40 G/A a season for Real Madrid over the past 5 seasons in all competitions which are serious numbers. He definitely has an ego, he thought after Ronaldo, Benzema etc all gone he'd be the face of the project and along comes Mbappe. Mbappe is the better player and is putting up even better numbers but they also haven't won a league title or Champions league with him in the team.
