Barcola's peak performances are tantalizing but they just seem few and far in between, with pedestrian performances on the wing more common. I just think that the difference between him and Martinelli is much smaller than we would care to admit - he's probably quicker and has better 1v1 ability but Martinelli works harder and looks to be a better finisher to me. PSG have also said they would want more than what City paid for Anderson so we'd be forking out 130m plus for a player that I am not convinced is a genuine upgrade or the type of world class signing that would justify that fee. It's disappointing since I think adding in a Kvara like player as our LW would take us to the next level but I just am not convinced that player is out there and/or available.
I'd rather spend on Bruno G, a CB/RB to cover Saliba, and Rogers (still not convinced here but it looks like he's our guy), and then see if someone big like Kroupi, Vini or Alvarez becomes attainable near the end of the window. But this is dependent on us keeping Martinelli as we need a pacy winger. If we decide to sell him, we will need to replace his pace.
