Yes, but....... if we lose, and there are no less than 8 teams within 3 points of us that could theoretically catch up to us, we could end the matchweek in 8th or 9th place. Not really where we want to be. Yes, i know we have a couple 'easier' games coming in the CL (but lets not sleep on Brugge, they just ran Barca ragged), but i would rather keep our standing as an undefeated team if we can. I don't see this as an unimportant game. This is pitting the two top teams in Europe against each other.

True, but are you comfortable with Calafiori, Saliba, Timber, Zubi, Rice, Eze, Trossard and Saka all starting 3 games in a week? If any of them miss the Chelsea game because of this game, would you regret starting them?

Arteta will want to win the game. He wants to win every game. He will play a strong team, maybe rotate the fullbacks, not much more.
I however will not be upset if we lose.

Pepe LeFrits I think you play your best players from the group that are fully fit/not carrying any niggles.

We still need to qualify for the k/o stage and it's against Bayern, who are one of the best teams in Europe - it's not about their 'status', it's about the fact they'll give us a tough match and we should be aiming to win.

But yeah, any players that are injury risks, then don't start them because (a) we've got a squad, (b) we're competing on multiple fronts whilst being (c) less than halfway through the season.

It would be great not to lose this game, and it would be terrific if Gyökeres, Ødegaard and Madueke could get 30-40 minutes each before the Chelsea game. I have no other expectations, fun as it would be to clobber Bayern.

One thing of note: Michael Olise in current form is one of the best players in the world, and I think Arteta is going to pick a team to deal with him specifically. Not sure what that means for our left flank yet, but Hincapie has his work cut out for him at least.

Edit - I would really like for either Rice or Zubi to get a bit of rest this week and the other next week against Brentford. I don't think there's any chance both of them sit at the same time. Saliba will play pretty much all the time with Gabriel out to maintain continuity. Eze will get some rest when Ode is ready to start, not before. I think the FBs are most in need of rotation because the way we play puts such high demands on them, but I also think Arteta is particularly conscious of that.
