Missed this but saw the line-up before heading out and it was a proper throwback to the Wenger days. Was gutted I'd miss it but just checked in and glad (and also somewhat surprised) to see that we won and kept a clean sheet.

Dowman was great when he showed physical intensity. That only came in moments here and there. Presumably that's a physical fitness thing. Without wanting to be negative, your summary is missing the fact that Norgaard looked like he won some fan contest to be out there. Being in a situation where he actually needs to play important games seems like the most plausible path to this season getting derailed.

I'd say Mosquera had a 6 out of 10 game. Some good recoveries but he wasn't as impressive as in some of our league games, wasn't as dominant in duels and had one absolute howler on the ball.

Kepa did everything right, White had a decent game but looks short on fitness and Hincapie looked pretty good. MLS looked off it for most of the game I thought. A lot of loose touches and questionable decisions. Nice assist though.

Merino was a bit absent in midfield but clever around the opposition box and Norgaard was poor. Nwaneri wasn't great either. Eze was always classy when involved but a bit peripheral, whereas Dowman was involved more but tends to take too much on. Harriman Annous ran hard but the level looks above him right now.

Mosquera wasn't great; he gave away the ball a few times. I won't judge his overall quality yet, considering he was playing with a first-time center-back partner, but he certainly wasn't excellent.

Our central midfield (CM) duo was also average.

We conceded more xG than the opposition.

Nobody was truly outstanding; it was a make-do performance, and given the line-up we put out, the result completely sufficed.

IBL looks like the semi finals will have City, Chelsea and Newcastle in them. We need to make sure we are qualified CL top 8 by end of the year in case we are also in the semi’s if we beat Palace in the next round.

Ah, that is a little less encouraging that I initially thought but still, with that lineup you take it.

On Noorgard, I don't think we'll ever need to rely on him in a meaningful way. The only scenario I see where he plays big games for us is if both Zubi and Rice are out at the same time. If Zubi is out, I think Rice drops in and Merino plays left 8. Of course, if we're misisng both Zubi and Rice then we'd be in trouble but most team would be in trouble losing two of their three starting midfielders at the same time.

Sicario2 yeah, agreed - hopefully a fully rotated team in mid-Dec looks stronger than the one we fielded today (it should if we get players back and don't suffer further injuries - granted, that's a big if).
