We keep losing the ball and giving up possession by playing direct and vertical. I hate this type of football. It’s not in our interest to keep giving the ball away. We need to slow it down, keep possession and pin them back.
daredevil I feel the opposite. in home games we have to play more like this. I liked what I saw most of today. we produced more than enough chances to dead the game by 60 minutes, we were just wasteful, with tross being the main culprit. the style you describe is fine for tougher away games

I think wastefulness is a byproduct of this type of football. It was for all intents and purposes Wengerball post-Henry which too was plagued by wastefulness.
I’m not completely against it - it’s just not good for one’s heart.

Odegaard having the freedom to move laterally is unlocking him. Gives him far more opportunities to play through passes and it’s much easier for him to play a LW in behind. Saka being out has helped him as he has a tendency to stick to Saka on the right which limits his influence on the rest of the pitch.
