Depends on where they are in the league and how greedy their ownership is. Their fans will be irate but hey that's the way of the footballing world. We may be able to throw a GJ9 into the mix to sweeten the deal. Get the Brazilians and his wages off our books. Win win.

This is all a wish and a prayer. Neither of those things will happen. GJ is on huge wages, they would never pay him that much. Semenyo just signed a new extension through '30, and we'd get raked over the coals if we really went for him. Not to mention his hot start for the season would drive his price higher.

Or we could get to January with a healthy (or healing) team. If we have a massive injury problem come december, then maybe we would think about it. Otherwise, we spent a ton of money in the summer, we're not buying big in January.

yeah we're not spending 250m GBP in the summer with practically no incoming and then spending another 100m in the winter. maybe if it threatened our CL place.

the only certainty for next summer is hincapie.

Yeah, forgot about Hincapie being 'technically' a loan until next summer, but we somehow got Leverkusen to agree to the "option" part which allowed us to take that hit next summer instead of this one.

But we still aren't buying big in January unless a crazy deal comes up.

It's a Berta special: a loan with an option to make it an obligatory sale for both sides. Doesn't go on this summer's books, but the deal is only called off if neither Arsenal nor Leverkusen exercises the option to close it.
