I do like these links to young talents with world class potential. I've said all summer that my dream for our next two windows is to focus on 2-3 high potential young players and maybe one world class addition. Yildiz is somewhere in the middle of those two categories in my mind but I feel like he could be very close to world class by the summer. If it were me, I'd go for Yildiz, Semenyo and Bouaddi this summer and let Jesus, Trossard and Martinelli move on. But this is all conjecture since this is the first time in the last 10-15 years that I just don't feel like we really have any current holes in the squad and I'd be fine if we just stood pat for now. To future proof this summer, we should be moving for some younger talents though.

I think it's a great time to buy talent too. We already have a first team that is good enough and experienced enough to win. What we need is players who can be integrated into the XI over in the next couple of years, to avoid a difficult transition like the one Liverpool is facing right now or the one United have been stuck in for a decade.

We already have Ethan, Myles, Dowman and Mosquera, and you have to think there's at least one, maybe two future key players in that group in a worst case scenario. We could use a few more though to hedge the bets a little.

Klaus I think that needs to be gradual. If Martinelli or Trossard go next summer for instance then you can get a young replacement like Yidliz. We are already struggling to find game time for Myles and Ethan.

Qwiss Yeah I'm working from the assumption that we'll lose a few guys in the summer to be honest. I think at least two of Trossard, Martinelli, Jesus and Havertz will be gone for instance, and it wouldn't surprise me if Ethan was pushing for a year-long loan either.

CPM

I think it's Jesus and Trossard that will be gone. Martinelli has youth on his side and has a niche carved out as a weapon in behind. It's more likely that Gyökeres is sent packing to Serie A than Havertz is sold.

CPM no one would buy Havertz with the stupid wage we pay him so selling him next summer is a non-starter.

As one of the few resident Havertz appreciators on this forum, I wouldn't want to sell him but I think the haters here would be surprised as to how interested both Madrid and Bayern would likely be in Havertz if he became available this summer. He would fit those teams like a glove but I'm pretty confident that his performances over the next two months are going to show a lot of folks here that it would be really dumb to sell him.

I've loved Trossard's performances this year but once we are able to actually shift Eze to the LW, I think he will be just a better version of Leo out there. Hopefully he can keep up these performances though because it would be great to get some value from him next summer along with Jesus. I like how we have structured our wing depth right now with one technical and creative player (Saka on the right, Eze/Trossard on the left) and then a pacier player backing them up (Madueke on the right, Martinelli on the left). I'd like to keep those dynamics with any recruitment over the next few windows.

samthegooner I like Havertz and I'd keep him but he wouldn't get a look in at Real or Bayern. They have Mbappe and Kane at CF.

Some of these names are just living off a reputation

Nunez - No, utterly unreliable in touch, finishing and everything else, older now too
Vlahovic - Leaving on a free next summer as he is on some fat 300k a week and hasn't done much to justify that and Juve wanted to reduce his wages
Biereth - Started very strongly in Monaco but has now scored 1-2 goals in 15-16 league games
Mikautadze - Not even respectable numbers in Ligue 1
Sorloth - Flopped in england already, Turning 30 and never will do the defensive work required in an Arteta side
Bowen - England international, WHU captain, won't go under 70-80m which is a scandalous waste of money for a player who is best played at right wing
Wissa - Just signed for Newcastle for 50m, not happening ever

Mateta I'd definitely take and Alvarez is the dream but not sure either is on the market atm
