JazzG their balance is off because they've brought him in with no real role that suits him. Fully agree on Trent though, people hugely underestimated how import he was for them. They've nowhere near enough creativity in that team.

Wirtz is so mediocre. Below average height for a footballer, lacks pace, lacks upper body strength and has suffered an ACL injury. How do you justify spending £110m on that.

Dom Some players just take longer to settle, also doesn't help that he has gone into a very good but a very unbalanced Liverpool team. Can clearly see from watching them the balance does not look right. They don't have proper wide options, they've spent a lot of money and ended up with being overpowered in certain positions and lacking in others.

I think they are badly missing Trent as well, he was literally the heartbeat and deep lying playmaker for the team.

Liverpool losing to a team they "should" beat on paper shows why we still need to play a strong team tomorrow. There are no "easy" games in the CL. Get the points on the board early then you can rest players when the pressure for points is less. Obviously some sensible rotation but nothing silly.

Sicario2 Fair, but the point probably still stands that dropping early points puts more pressure on the later games. Important to get the points on the board now then make wholesale changes to rest people later when the result doesn't matter as much.

I think this was said quite a bit over the summer by many, but of course Pool fans just said "but look at our attack, we;k=ll just blow teams out" except they aren't.

tazmania I don't agree with that, Liverpool set up that game to be compact and defensive as did we. They were clearly quite content to give up their attacking threat to keep their shape. Both teams showed a lot of respect to each other, explains why it took a worldy of a freekick to separate the teams.
