Yeah, to be honest, i also think it has a lot to do with the team around Wirtz also. We are by far a more settled team than Pool is. They replaced both FB's, and half their front line, so i think that's maybe what has been making Wirtz look quite a poor investment thus far. Do i think he would have fared better if he came into our team? Yeah, most likely. He is a quality player, but i also think he needs to toughen up a bit more, the way Odegaard had to do when he first came to Arsenal.
That said, it appears, at least to me, that Arteta brought in players that were going to buy into the collective system and work their asses off for the team, and thats exactly how everyone is playing. Its been said many times recently, but Arteta doesn't like passengers, and right now, we have no passengers. Everyone is working hard and even if they aren't starting, they are working hard when they come in as a sub.
