No one had a bad game today. Eze and Gyokeres were mainly quiet, but they combined wonderfully for Gyok's goal. Medueke looked great.. Merino looked good. Zubi (MOTM, enough said). Ethan looked good replacing Ode.. Back 4 were solid (although Cala was probably the weakest of the bunch, but he wasn't 'bad'). Raya was largely untested, but pushed that one freak chance off the bar, so he did what he needed to do.
Subs were good, made at the right time. Minutes for GabMart and Trossard.. Would have liked to have seen Hicapie, but i can understand MLS subbing on (he also was solid when he came on).
All in all, that ended up being an easy day at the office. Forest are not amazing, but they are still a pretty solid team, and we definitely made light work of them.
Gyokeres was brought in to do exactly what he did today. Make sure we extend our lead and win these game we might have drawn last season. Mission accomplished.
4 games, 3 clean sheets, only 1 goal conceded (which was a worldie FK).
So far, so good. The next week will tell us more. Away in the CL and City. and then away to Newcastle after that.
