Qwiss calling them best attack in the league is speculative.
Agreed, so we'll say they have the best attack 'on paper'. Lets be honest, they now have the top 2 goal scorers from last season, and they added one of the best German players, and a tall, silky, talented 23 year old Frenchman. On paper, that is the best attack. Their problem is, they don't have much in the way of backup. Gakpo is ok, but after that, who?
I think we will see one of Isak or Salah's production go significantly down this season, and my money is on Salah. He's another year older, and he'll be missing a month in the middle of the season (and when he comes back, he could be exhausted).
And they have been lucky with injuries at the back and in the middle last season. An injury to VVD or MacAllister and they have no truly capable backup. Thats the part that we did much better this summer.
We may not have the TOP top player in each position, but our dropoff in depth is minimal comparatively. (and that was one of our big problems last season). Plus, we kept Martinelli and Trossard. If Kai and Saka come back and dont turn into perma-crocks, we (in theory) have a really deep and pretty well balanced team. (and that does not even count someone like Jesus, who i dont count on at all, but he's on the mend and just adds more depth, at least for the short term).
We have depth and capable backup in every single position. Liverpool don't have that. They have a strong first XI (and it will win them quite a few games), but over the course of the season (and 4 separate competitions), do they have enough depth? I am not so sure about that.
