Yeap, an obligation would have counted in this year's PSR numbers, so we have probably provided our word to Bayer that we'll exercise the option - but have not put in down on pen and paper. A gentlemen's agreement, if you will.
It's a risk for Bayer but they're probably confident enough in the relationship that we won’t fuck them over next season even if he picks up a major injury or ends up being shit. Also, it won't be a good look for us with other clubs if we did something untoward her so I'm pretty confident that the deal will be made permanent next summer regardless of what happens during the season.
It's a really good deal and not one that would have been easy to negotiate I'd imagine.
