well the biggest difference is that we haven't won anything, so none our players should be saying it seriously or sarcastically. why should there be a discourse about the mentality of mo salah or all people?

While i feel confident that the team will put forth the effort, im less confident of getting a result. If we had everyone fit, my thoughts would be different. We have the squad for depth coverage now, but against the top teams, you want your starting XI playing.

USArsenal we've beaten Manchester City two years in a row without Bukayo Saka playing either game. I get that they were home games and Anfield is different, but with the raising of our floor and ceiling, I can't help but feel very confident.

Put it this way, this amazing Liverpool side - the champions of England - couldn't beat a hugely depleted Arsenal team in either fixture last season. That doesn't mean they won't blow us away tomorrow, I just don't think they will.

Yes, but i also feel like we are not quite firing on all cylinders as a team yet. (i get neither are they). We have the squad to beat them, but it just takes moments for us not to win. And until we've shown that we can avoid those moments, there iss till that doubt.

And to be honest, last season's game at Anfield was academic, they had already won the league.

If we go there and win, its a statement. If we go there and draw, its acceptable (at least IMO), but if we go there and lose... Well, its more fodder for the 'big bad bottlers' talk.

All in all I think this is the perfect time to go to Anfield. Both because I'm convinced we're better than them this year, but also because no one expects us to get a result so it'll be no big deal if we don't.

I dont disagree with this. I would rather get this trip there out of the way early when neither team has really gotten going full steam yet.

And i would rather play them at Anfield without Isak, if they end up signing him.
