Still have plenty of belief in Martinelli though, and Gyökeres will have space in that left channel if we just put the ball on him.

Can't really get furious with Arteta for not sending out an eighteen year old, a guy who's trained with us twice, or a guy who's still injured to start as the spear tip of our midfield at Anfield.

Yep we've seen experienced professional choke at anfield. Nwaneri has struggled to be involved in much smaller games. It would be pretty risky to start him.

Were all set up now to quick counter like a klopp team. This is when many fans have been asking for. Ball winning capabilities and quickly play forwards with 3 rapid attackers martinelli, Gyok and Noni. Great top end pace all across the line.

Im not at all surprised by this lineup. I predicted that front 3, Martinelli has history scoring against Liverpool and Madueke is the natural replacement for Saka on the right. Merino in the middle isn't my favorite, but he has understanding with Zubi and he & Rice can be double pivots. Back 4 pretty much picks itself for now.

Our bench is strong AF, so we have players to make a difference should it be needed.

Not confident, but not shitting myself either.

i feel i need to slander martinelli and madueke some more (they couldn't cut their way out of a wet paper bag with scissors in their hands and you want them to beat their man?) because i want to have to come back and apologize for the slander after martinelli has szobo on skates and forcing konate into stick or twist situations and madueke doing kerkez dirty.

Klaus The relative weakness of their defense in no way implies that we need to play a more attacking/creative XI. Anfield against this Liverpool team is probably the toughest match of the season. You need physicality, pace, intensity. Get the game under control, win your duels. Then take your chances to exploit that weaker defense.

Gabi can do it. Though I'll be hoping he's not the one who has to finish anything today, he's probably a nervous wreck given the pressure on his position.

Too bad that annoying little prick McAllister is back for them. He provides control and technical solutions for them in midfield. He's a world class midfielder but also a grade A c@nt, always acting tough and committing niggling fouls which he never gets booked for.
