There is as much chance of this window being a success as there is of it being your usual Spurs like window where all positions are plugged but the dial didn't shift.

We've done enough to keep ahead of City and Chelsea but Liverpool have extended the gap. Time to be the bridesmaid again.

Purely looking at it from the inside, its a 10/10. I really couldn't even bring myself to ask for more. Got the players I personally wanted except Isak.

That Liverpool have gone completely fucking batshit insane this window would change things on a relative scale, I guess. Hard to understand how or why they are doing this, but it's very annoying. That we lost to them just before they go and blow another 200m is hard to take. Especially because 3/4 of it is on Isak, who I wanted.

EDIT: Just saw the Guehi deal fell through alhamdulillah.

400m. Dont forget Wirtz for like 120m Ekitike for like 80-90m. They've gone nuts. But glad they have no one of note at CB and hopefully Konate is out for a while.

Even more hopefully someone elbows that fucker van Dijk to the point where, although he's still able to function fully as a person, he forgets how to play football and retires mid season.

8/10. 8 serious players. Zubi, Gyokeres and Eze all improve the first XI. Majorly lifted the sides floor. Did way more than I expected. Made signings for right now not 3 years time.

Kepa, Mosquera, Hincapie, Zubimendi, Agoume and Isak (with Trossard out) would be a 9/10 at the minimum.
Replace Isak with Rodrygo and that's still an 8/10.
I reckon the main point of difference is that I think signing 3 7/10 players is about half as good as signing 1 9/10 player whereas I feel some people seem to be of the opinion that signing 3 7/10 players is about twice as good as signing 1 9/10 player.

Happy with the window. Made more signings that I had expected, and I really wanted Eze so excited to see him. But it remains to be seen how much the window elevates us. The performances against United and Liverpool have been worrying as it still feels like goals are going to be hard to come by against most opposition and we're going to end up with too many draws (and the odd 1-0 defeat) again. But it's still early days for the new additions so hopefully Eze goes some way to improving that.

Xcdude24 this will be the big question we'll ask ourselves come seasons end. isak could have been ours on 2 separate occasions (2022 and 2025) but we just never bit. he would've definitely come if we'd shown the same level of seriousness to signing him as we did with rice, for example. I think arteta has misgivings about his durability and load capacity. as things stand today, I'm about 80% sure we've done the right thing for us. on the other hand if isak has a 30+ goal scoring season and doesn't get injured, im sure there will be some dark mutterings about the choice we made

If you take all Liverpools signings and all of our signings I'd take ours, despite them getting Ekitike and Isak who I think are both top players. If I was a Liverpool fan I'd feel like that was an incomplete window despite the outlay. Their defence still looks ragged and they are light on numbers there. I've said from day 1 that I think Frimpong will struggle and Kerkez has a ton of potential but I think he'll have an up and down season too. van Dijk is 34 and Konate has is mind half in Madrid already. Their midfield is a level below ours and has none of the depth. And we have 3 of the best teenagers in the world all getting better as each month passes.

1 off for sales being uninspired, but I'm still glad Vieira, Lokonga and Zinchenko will be off campus, and that we sold the unsettled Kiwior. After a summer of unfettered player power, sustaining our collegiate environment and respecting players' wishes seems wise. In that regard it was also nice to see Vieira get a bit of a friendly send-off in the training photos.
