Sesko finally takes a shot, and its a weak one right at the keeper. Still trying to figure out if he's just looking this bad because its United, or if he is really that bad. I can't think he is really this bad.

As i say that, he scored a scramble in the box, took him 3 tries.. But that might be called back. I think Mbuemo shoved Kelleher a bit on the initial cross.

I don't understand. They give United a penalty (and a yellow for Brentford) because Mbuemo was brought down, but then VAR check did not decide that it was a denial of a goal scoring opportunity and change it to a red. If it wasnt a denial of a goal scoring opportunity, then why is it a penalty?

That said..... Bruno misses. hahahahaha.. Kelleher comes up big!

Not sure what this question means tbh. Whether it was a clear goal scoring opportunity doesn't have anything to do with whether it'd a penalty or not. There are potentially two decisions to be made here:

Is it a foul? If no, carry on. If yes, penalty.
If yes to question 1, did the foul take away a goal scoring opportunity from the fouled player? If yes, red card. If no, only penalty.

I don't see how they came to the conclusion of no to question 2 though.

I feel United's results cause me more concern about the way we struggled against them from an attacking perspective. The teams that have looked vulnerable at the back we so far have really struggled to exploit.

Ehhhhhh, i hear where you're coming from, but it was the first game of the season, it was away at OT, none of our team was settled, we were just coming off a strenuous preseason. And yet we still walked away with a 1-0 win.

awooga83 I know you're on a downer about the Arsenal generally, but really mate - we had a brand new front three, a new centre mid and Declan Rice was apparently ill. It surely can't come as any suprise then, that it wasn't our best game in an attacking sense. Especially at a ground we always struggle at.

We also scored early enough for our attacking struggles on the day to be rendered moot.

Didn't they stop the triple punishment that used to be there in the past with giving a penalty, red card, and most likely a goal?

RocktheCasbah I think that's fair about my perspective, I take the position arsenal need to prove it rather then I believe they will do it. But I meant this also in terms of Liverpool in that those teams have looked like their weakness was defensive and yet we don't seem to have an attack that can exploit that weaknesses, at least not yet.
