Speaking of fouls, the guys running commentary on my end have been going crazy with the "oh the referee was correct, very soft" narrative. Basically nothing is a foul these days. It's going to get someone hurt bad, just like Gordon almost did to VVD. Refs are letting a lot go, too much in my opinion, and in high emotion games, they will let a few strong tackles go to start off, and then things will start to boil over and they'll not be able to put the lid back on before it's too late. And then they'll have to start throwing out red cards / unnecessary yellows to regain control the game, and destroy the spectacle.
Hope they are able to find the proper balance eventually, so far I'm not sure they have it right.
