I have been hate watching Pep since 2009 after Henry was done. As much as it grates me to say it, his team was the best in history but I detested the fact that he had the luxury of picking between Henry, Ronaldinho, Messi and Eto’o and be called a genius. Nevertheless, as much success his clubs had before and after him, he undoubtedly took his teams to new heights they’d never seen before.
I hate watched him so much that I even celebrated Tottenham and Chelsea knocking him out the CL. Admittedly, that hate was wrapped around admiration for how he transformed football. Aside from this season, the football we see today is way better for me than the shit from the 90s or 2000s. I like possession based football and the Brazil 1970 Alberto goal is the template for how football should be played. There’s a reason so many still love the 07/08 team.
His dominance at the league level is unprecedented and for us to deny him a title in his final season as a PL manager. Fucking Super Mikel Arteta, I absolutely fucking love it.
