Kinda similar to how defenders started watching out for Nwaneri cutting in from the right. Still, they both will find ways to adapt to the extra scrutiny and be impactful. Saka already has, and Nwaneri needs to actually get onto the pitch to do so as well.

Slot is pathetic. I'm no fan of leg-breaking tackles but there's nothing whatsoever that's out of order in Van de Ven's tackle which Slot's now publicly calling "reckless" and set to cause "serious injury".

Burnwinter I think that is a bit harsh he's planted his foot and then the defender wrapped his leg and force onto it which certainly is going to risk serious injury. I don't think it's down to susceptibility but it's a bit of a freak one. As for managers they all come out with stuff like that. We will complain about VAR against us but not come out when we benefit from a decision such are humans in that scenario.

It's silly. Looks to me Van de Ven's intent is entirely for the ball, and it's nearly a world class tackle. Considering Liverpool's fans and the way they act, for Slot to call it reckless might as well be stochastic terrorism. Save that for Ryan Shawcross.

Burnwinter intent isn't relevant. He goes in hard, missed the ball and isn't in control. It winds up with Isaks leg being scissored and that causes injury. Its a dangerous tackle whether Isaks brittle or not. If I see that to happen to our player and its not a goal I'm certainly calling for a penalty and a red card.

I don't think he's intended to do this but the reckless case would be once you are off your feet you can't control your momentum and force but that would apply to plenty of challenges. So sure once you don't control yourself you could apply the charge of being reckless but as I said it would apply to plenty of tackles.i think all managers would probably do what he did having lost one of your better players it's going to influence how they react.

Disagree. If anything it's Isak who should know not to leave his leg in there. I'm not speaking about the proper penalty for that tackle in match either, but about Slot's attempt to damage Van den Ven's reputation.

Now if intent doesn't matter then there's double the reason not to call the tackle reckless, because whether it was reckless or not doesn't matter.

But intent doesn't matter is nonsense. What would the word "control" mean if control wasn't associated to a presumption of good intent? This is an unfortunate incident that for malice doesn't come anywhere near the bad old days of the league. It just happens to affect Slot's misfit star signing.

Like I said I'm not speaking about the light penalty Van den Ven received but Slot's rhetoric. And yes, I do intensely dislike him. I can't wait for him to be gone.

He's late and he scissors him at full speed. That's objectively out of control and endangering another player. He should be banned for as long as Isak is out injured IMO. Slot's a prick but Van de Ven is a Spud.

Slot's got no special call to be slating Van den Ven publicly over that challenge. The defender's got to go for that ball and that's what he does. The result is unfortunate and yes, if Isak were an Arsenal player I'd want to see a red card. But that's separate to the point. We see these every week, but Slot's carrying on like this one's Keane going after Haaland.

Sicario2 Thanks mate, but that's really not necessary. I didn't take any of it personally and I'm fine to give it back.
