I would've liked to have gotten eze done first, and left madueke (or literally anyone else) as an opportunistic punt later in the window. there wasn't exactly a clamour to sign him, and we probably could've gotten even more favourable terms

We have no idea really. It does tend to be the case there's a sane reason why our deals happen quickly or drag on. Madueke is reclassified as homegrown, willing to come as backup and reported to be on sane wages ... probably we viewed him as a bargain.
