Personally I'm not really bothered with getting another wide player in as it's no surprise I am happy having Martinelli there. Where Eze would have been nice for me is to have another option to sometimes bring on instead of Rice in that left 8 role where we need a more attacking lineup, or in more congested games on the left if we dont think we'll get any space out wide, or finally when Ode is injured or needs resting.
Now am I happy with the squad? Pretty much yes. Would I rather have had Eze than Madueke? Also probably yes, but he'd probably come as just a squad player anyways so not really a game changer rather than another option. Plus Madueke seems a bit better than I initially gave him credit for so willing to wait on that and see how it goes.
Either way I reckon we have a good enough squad to challenge. I just hope we give our players the best possible platform to succeed and change our emphasis to be more skewed to the attack. If that happens I'd be happy enougb even if we end up trophyless. If it is the same type of football then it's only a justifiable with winning something in a case of the ends justify the means type situation.
