JazzG He's already committed to and in the action of taking the shot before Gyokeres makes a move to be slid in. You'll probably say Odegaard should be waiting for or expecting Gyokeres to make his move and shouldn't shoot; I'll say you're looking for any reason to shit on Odegaard. Had he tried to slide in Gyok and failed you'd likely then be saying Odegaard should have shot.

Lukazan He needs to show some guile and appreciate that Gyokeres in a 1v1 has a higher chance of scoring than him. He is shooting at the near post while the GK has that post completely covered. When he skips past that Man Utd player he has plenty of time and space there to look at the picture ahead of him, in a tight situation I'd understand he's got a split second but he makes the wrong choice here.

I'm not shitting on Odegaard but he needs to do better there. There were other counters he took the wrong option today. He was probably one of our better players today which might not be saying much considering the quality of his teammates but

He needs to do much better . Think Ozil, Cesc, Santi even Vieira in those transitions today. We'd have at least 2 ir three balls in behind for attackers to have good scoring chances

my serious worry is he is not after that creative/inside type and will go for another touch line sniffer who has a bizzaro stat like being in the top 1% of 0-20 acceleration or some shit and can't trap a ball to save his life under pressure.

From the Arsecast yesterday James suggested that the Eze move that was explored early in the window around the time Nwaneri had some uncertainty and once that was resolved it hasn't really been progressed by the club.

est 💯 not even a hard choice. Get Eze in then wait for a better winger than Madueke, if one doesn't arrive snap up Madueke on deadline day for £45m.

I will wait until window is closed but we needed a LW arguably more than a CF last season and we got Sterling. We still needed a LW this season albeit CF became more pressing and we got Madueke it's mind boggling.

est when it comes down to it, Arteta thinks Madueke is a better fit than Eze. The money/fees are basically a wash.

Mirth Big call for sure, but it's a call at least. We didn't lose out on a target because we're tight-fisted, we got the player we wanted. Clear as a day.

I just hope this means Arteta will give decent minutes to Nwaneri. Eze would have been a nice addition but mostly as very high level cover in midfield. If we don't have him for that we better see Ethan get those minutes. If I have to watched a Rice and Merino pairing start while Ethans available I'll be very pissed off.

Folks should probably sit tight till the end of the window before gouging their eyes out. Seems like other clubs' decisions are blocking up the winger market at the moment, as several of the players' futures remain up in the air.
