DiabyKungFu yeah pretty confident. You can’t put a price on signing a top Prem proven player at their prime. Half of Ferige’s signings were like this. It sends a message to the rest of the league and it automatically increases the competition in the squad and also increases the quality on our bench.

The knock on effect of signing Eze is huge.

It'd mean something like this. Chance of winning the title:
Arsenal 90 %
Liverpool 5 %
City 3 %
The remaining teams sharing the last 2 %

In reality, huge favorites like City in their prime get maybe about 50-60 % chance, which is very abnormal.

What little I've seen of the Bilbao game at the weekend suggested there may indeed be an evolution in the way we play though, so even if we don't sign anyone else, that'll be a satisfying mitigation against a repeat of last year's dullness.

Sicario2 he’s the missing jigsaw in our puzzle. He’s in his prime, used to the premier league, would be low risk, just came back off winning two trophies.

Yeah. To be clear, I wanted him to clarify his position because it is completely insane. Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea are all going to be really good this season. I don't think there exists any plausible combination of signings by any team that would give any one team more than around a 40% chance at the title. Especially not Ebere Fucking Eze. Count me amongst those who missed the memo of when he became some sort of "dream" target.

DiabyKungFu a lot of ppl on here were happy with Eze being the final signing and their summer transfer window rating would have gone up by 1.5/2 marks accordingly if we signed him.

Forget percentages as it’s arbitrary but no Eze and no LW v having Eze or a top quality LW is quite significant in terms of us getting the league over the line or not.

If we sign Eze/top quality LW you can’t underestimate a summer window in which you have a) peace of mind and b)know you’ve done all you could have (player sales withstanding) to go for it.

Don’t sign Eze or LW = what if, what if when shit goes wrong

In short, sign Eze/top quality LW and have no regrets. We don’t have time for what ifs anymore.

MistaT I didn't think I'd have to consider the choice but given who we've targeted in this summer window, it's made me pause for thought. I'm not going to turn down a league title and as I said, it does look like we might evolve our play to something more akin to what I think we all want.

But yeah, would still like me more mavericks.

Sicario2 They've had footballers on there in recent years and not really known to make shit up.

Sicario2 Not sure if his signing would secure the league, certainly wouldn't harm our chances and like you say will give cover in multiple positions. If you gave me the choice between a top class LW or him I'd take the former but there aren't any available on the market so I'd take him.

Gives us dribbling and power through the middle as well which we don't really have.
