Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert Defo, reckon he'd speed up our play as well. Right now on a counter it can take is 3-5 business days to get the ball up the pitch but players like him and Zubimendi will get that ball forward quicker and expose teams more. For someone like Gyokeres that would be key to making him work, he'll find it hard when teams sit back but if we can get him 1v1 in a counter he's got that rabid and aggressive nature about him that will make CBs uncomfortable.

the more I think about the way we play/are going to play, the more I would want Eze to come in and play the left 8 role... Cant bring him in and then force him to have to be half the time on the touchline waiting for the play switches... need him to be as much and as frequent as possible in the most dangerous areas of the pitch... Rice should be nowhere near the front5 when we are try to unlock these defensive teams.

But teams pick us on the counter when they sit back. Rick breaks so many of the counter and let's more players play further forward. But theirs definitely times you'd want eze and times you'd want Sir Rice.

Speedster yeah agreed, Rice is still massive in the big games, but we don't have that other option right now and imo getting someone in there like Eze is the the single biggest thing we can to to improve our attack when needed.. It probably is more risky but so be it.. also Arteta has different levers that he can use to mitigate that like reigning in the fullbacks, etc...

Looks like this isn't happening unless Trossard is sold.

If we go into September with only Madueke and Gyokeres as our attacking signings, it's bordering on malicious negligence. Over the last couple of weeks we've taken it for granted that Eze would sign.

definitely would've preferred to have eze wrapped up first. its not a complicated deal at all. there's no logical reason for us to have accelerated the madueke signing the way we did, or at least try to be a bit savvier with the deal structure
