Just on last season's Saka - he was playing really well before his hamstring blew off his leg. Expecting him to come back at the same level he left us with was unrealistic and he still scored in both away legs of the Champions League quarter and semi finals.

Only thing ever crossed my mind was the usual: has Saka stopped trying a little bit because he agreed his new deal?

I actually never thought that. Everything thats been happening with him is because he's been played into the ground, kicked and battered every game and injured part of the time. I don't doubt his commitment and passion for the team or his effort. He just has physical limitations at the moment. Unfortunately, its not like to go away because of the WC this summer. Ugh.

USArsenal Yeah, I strayed a little from the golden path to doubt Saka. It wasn't a lasting feeling, but we've seen some shocking performances lately. Meanwhile as the heated debate in this thread shows, the next few weeks will play a huge part in how players such as Eze and Ødegaard are remembered by us fans.

USArsenal agree with this it's not about doubting him or his intent it was what the reality might be following his injury and the hope that he would become our talisman and take that next step up ala Salah which hasn't quite been able to happen as yet probably because of said injuries.

I feel like singing Eze was the difference. Obviously there's hundreds of variables but I think the intent, the vibes, his threat/unpredictability, etc are the margin we needed.

All signings played some part. They were all inconsistent at times but they played a part. Let's get big ears

Was the collective. Squad depth definitely helped this season. Being able to call on guys like Hincapie, Trossard, MLS, White, Merino. Havertz all season gave us enough to weather the injuries and fatigue that guys like Saka, Timber, Rice, Odegaard suffered.

Raya, Zubi, Rice, Gyokeres all played over 35 league games. Respeck!!!
31 for Gabriel, Saka, Saliba, Trossard and Eze.

Absolutely. Will somehow need to ship out the likes of Jesus, White, Havertz over the summer to avoid a repeat of this. Odegaard is honestly on the margin as well in my mind but I doubt we will sell our captain the summer after winning the PL.
