He should have done exactly what he did. It was completely unremarkable, though. The idea that Eze is a better passer than Odegaard is completely fucking insane.

DiabyKungFu nobody is saying Eze is a better passer than Odegaard (at least, I'm not), but this particular pass was a good example of Eze being prepared to do something Odegaard wasn't in our previous home game, which was to give Gyokeres the ball in some space.

These players have basically the exact same G+A/90 in the Premier League this season. One of these players gets insane criticism and one of these players gets insane praise. Somehow the one getting the criticism is the one that's also a million times better at linking the midfield to the attack and a million times better out of possession. It makes zero sense at all. Eze fans act like the guy has Cherki level output but he's nowhere near that level at all.

Using any kind of stat to back up Odegaard as having an impact this season is ridiculous. If we do something this year he’d do well do hand the trophy over to Rice,Gabs and Saliba to lift it together.

Eze will be here next season, scoring for fun against the Spuds if they stay up. Ode will be playing for an Italian team because his time here is up.

Gurgen the difference a bunch of protagonists together on the field makes is incredible. A charged up Trossard, a fit again Saka and Calafiori plus Eze was immense. Add Odegaard in there somewhere and you’re smiling. Then you also get the best out of a guy like Gyok

This is the part im not entirely sure about. "Fit again" did not exactly look accurate by the end of the first half. When he was walking back to the center circle after he scored, his legs looked really stiff. I know we took him off at halftime, but something tells me he's still not exactly fit.

Like I said, you won't win with Eze haters, just like you won't win with Ode haters. For that matter you can't win with haters of any player because they'll keep moving the goal posts regardless of what they produce. Even if it's a widely held view that they are world class. Some have even started turning on Saka already.

Gooners have generally not turned on Saka. But we realize he has been below his best this season (and part of last season). If he's fully fit and firing, he's the catalyst for the whole team (as shown yesterday in the first half).

It's one thing acknowledging someone has had an off season. Another thing criticising (or st best minimizing) every positive thing they do.

Let Saka keep this up for another season and the haters will be out in full force asking for him to be sold or whatever.
