Coombs I'm all for trying to be more direct through the middle and using techincally gifted players like Odegaard, Trossard and Eze in front, between and around defenders, but for that to happen we need some form of width that keeps defences and midfields stretched across the pitch. We'd be too narrow with 4222. Maybe would work with Ben White and Calafiori, but can't see Hincapie, Lewis-Skelly or Timber helping with that formation.
