It may be part of the deal, that he gets to play for CP in the ECL qualifier. I dont mind it because it keeps him in game shape. Yes, there's a risk of injury, but playing at Selhurst in a European game (the first since whatever Intertoto games they had in 98) is something i think he deserves, since he's one of the main reasons they go to that point in the first place. It would be a great sendoff for him.

Palace being my second team, I still can't fully believe this has gone down the way it did. Pure fantasy playing out in real life.

Hope we see him lurking on the edge of the box a lot on corners in a similar position to where he was when he scored against us in the second match we played against Palace last year. He's such a great ball striker - it's impressive how many goals he's scored on the bounce with tricky in between hops either on volleys or crashing the box. Would love to see if we can get him in positions to capitalize on second balls from corners.

that's what i expected. it was outrageous when they were suggesting that he would play and then go have a medical. so they would risk a 67m deal over a stupid conference league qualifier and he would risk his dream move over that? it makes a lot more sense to call your manager and tell him you aren't in the right headspace to play.

Where in our system does he most naturally fit. He feels like an old-style Wenger 442 left winger, but neither a left 8 or a LWer in our current system. Interested to hear views from others who have watched him more.

Phil his best position in our system would be left 8 but I don't think he's going to bump Rice or Odegaard. I'd hope maybe Odegaard will rotate with him a bit. He'll probably play on the left quite a bit too. Going to be really interesting to see how Arteta uses this big deep squad.

He's a not a touchline left winger, but neither are Martinelli and Trossard. I think he's going to be a similar player as Trossard, Lot's of skill and tricks to beat his man, rather than pace, and he's better placed on the inside channel but can still be very effective from wide.

Anyway, I think a lot has been made about him playing on the left, but even more important for me is the fact that at last we have an Odegaard back-up(that is not an inexperienced kid). Also, he can play with Odegaard. And he can play on the left. Plugs so many holes for us and potentially lifts the team in more than one way.

We see White offer more of a traditional overlap, but will that be encourage of MLS (doesn't seem his game) or Califiori?

JazzG I think he will help release pressure on Madueke too as fans won't be so unforgiving of him now and blaming him for blocking Eze. When I say fans I include myself lol.
