Burnwinter also didn’t have a great pre-season. Wouldn’t be the first player to struggle to get going having not benefitted from a proper pre-season, in addition to adapting to a new team.
His performances have definitely been lacking. He’s done some important work for the team and you see his impact by how we collapse in on ourselves when he goes off, but you can’t ignore the individual stats. I’m just hoping he turns out to be a player who comes to the fore when he feels on top of his game physically. That in itself is a danger if he needs to be peak condition to be where we need him, but maybe it’s easier to work around that if he can develop a better understanding with those around him and have Havertz competing/spelling him for minutes.
