He has to start. I preferred Havertz over Gyokeres earlier in the season but Gyokeres is currently hitting peak conditioning while Havertz doesn’t offer the same level of pressing he used to.

Absolutely should not start against PSG, their CBs will eat him alive. They are quicker and stronger, Havertz has his faults but we will be under huge pressure that game and when we move the ball forward it needs to stick.

JazzG We weren't really under huge pressure when we played them last year and there was plenty of space in behind to exploit. Gyokeres starts both games for me. Also because when Havertz starts, we keep fucking around at the edge of the box doing nothing.

Gurgen We beat them last year and one of our stand out performers in that game was Havertz. When they pressed us within an inch of our lives in the first SF we did not have an out ball. 2nd leg we went with Merino and they weren't able to get at us like they did in the 1st tie.

They have no games until the final, their players have hardly played any minutes compared to ours, they are physically going to be in much better shape. They are going to come at us 100mph from minute 1 and we need to weather that storm, we need that ball to go up the pitch and stick, get it to Saka it will stick. Get it to Gyokeres and it goes straight back the other way, he has not shown against any elite CBs he has what it takes.

One good game against Fulham and some people have forgotten about the rest of the season.

The PSG CBs are quicker than him but he should be able to push them around a bit. He's already starting to do it much better against the PL brutes. He won't beat them for pace but he will open up some space for the others. His hold up play has improved tremendously as well in the last month or six weeks.

Plus, as others have said, he's actually in good form and peak conditioning

Sicario2 I'm not biased, I'm being completely realistic about him Too many people hyped him up last summer and don't want to walk back their words. He has proven himself to be an above average CF, backup player at best for us.

Havertz has a lot of problems but his link play and hold up play is another level to Gyokeres. Give Gyokeres space and time he'll be much better than Havertz but top teams give you neither.

I would happily take this whole forum ripping me a new one if Gyokeres proves me wrong.

JazzG apart from his goal havertz was shit yesterday and should have been sent off. Always has a brain fart in a big game. As others have said this is is VG’s best moment for us in terms of form, fitness and confidence. This is the kind of player you play in decisive games. The second best thing Kai did last night was letting VG rest for the next two games.

Sicario2 I agree Havertz was completely stupid yesterday with that challenge. I'm not saying we should build Arsenal around Havertz, I'm saying out of our options he is our current best one and after his injuries we need to give him as many minutes as possible to get sharp.

Gyokeres played last week against West Ham and was shit, as were a lot of the team to be fair so I'm not entirely sure I believe this theory that he has come into top form. Definitely looks much improved, his hold up play and the way he is using is body is definitely better because earlier in the season CBs were manhandling him.

Forget comparing Kai to Victor, this isn’t even the best version of Havertz. He looks off pace, sluggish and also nearly got himself sent off.

Gyokeres was good against West Ham, I don't know how you can conclude he was shit. Barely wasted a ball. The point you're missing is that we are not arguing for hoofball and we believe it is a bad tactic, so we don't need Havertz.

Doc Havertz is also averaging more shots per 90 than Gyokeres.

I get people think Havertz made a stupid mistake with challenge that was probably a red but Gabby headbutted Haaland at the Etihad and no one cared. Not that I condone either

Yesterday was tappy no shoot ball. But Jazz was suggesting we need Havertz as an outlet to get out from the press, so hoofing it to him and having him battle with PSG defenders.

Gurgen thong is Gyokeres has become pretty great out as an outlet in recent weeks. Much better winning those long balls and actually turning them into dangerous situations.

We don't have the players to play through the PSG press, so we need to deal with the situation in front of us rather than how we would like to play. Also to deal with their aggressive press you'd need some bloody elite technicians, which we clearly don't have and even that might not be enough. Klopp showed at Dortmund + Liverpool against Pep that you can have the most technically gifted players but an aggressive organised press can be near impossible to play through. We got first hand experience of PSG's press last season when for 30 mins they suffocated us.

Now onto Gyokeres, he has shown time and time again his hold up play simply is not good enough. He is good at running channels and give him a chance you can bet your life on him scoring but this game isn't going to be open. He could have a big role coming on towards the end of the match if the game opens up but in the first part of this game he imo is not what we need up top.

Don Pacifico Gabriel is a potential Arsenal legend and has been one of our best performers and players of the last 3 years. Havertz is an injury prone player who usually fluffs his chances in big games and moments. Pretty sure Gab has more goals than Kai even taking into account goals per min. Please don’t compare them.

If we want to lose the CL final, play Kai.

Havertz is of course better than Gyokeres, but the latter is finally finding some form while Havertz hasn't been fit for long enough at a time to find his. I'm not really sure who I want to start, but wouldn't complain about either.
