Doc in fairness, injuries with Isak is a feature not a bug. Of course I would have taken Isak at the start of the season but there's always a good chance of him missing 3-4 months at any given point.

Isak being unavailable for large chunks of the season is part of why he'd make such a poor big money signing. He will do better next season but for 130m - you don't want to wait for the second season before he starts producing the goods.

Availability is part of whether a player is better or worse than someone. If you can't get on the pitch - you are by default worse than someone who can.

I may be in the minority here but I thought he was pretty good today.

He connected play well a few times, played hard against two CBs, and was barely supported. We were attacking with two players, occasionally three, and it meant he faced two CBs consistently.

I don’t understand why he went off because he was finally doing things right in the 5 minutes before that. Havertz and him together would have been a problem for Brighton. But why try to attack when you can just surrender eh

I thought he was awful for the whole game. if we had any kind of attacking transition strategy he'd be a useful asset, but we've decided he's best used as a target man lummox, which sees him flopping on the ground like a fish most of the time.

Yeah thought he was dreadful as well, we looked much better when Havertz came on. We needed to bypass the press by going long and in those games Gyokeres simply gets lost. He can’t compete physically against defenders and only really excels if we get him into a position where he is 1v1 in a channel, mostly the left one.

We need to bypass the press by playing better football, not by hoofing. This is not a game plan. Brighton bypassed our press all the time, we can’t do the same with our 500m team?

Gurgen Maybe but we don't have those type of players in midfield. Also a very organised and aggressive press is hard to get around even if you do have good ball playing midfielders. Wengers teams got smothered and we had ballers all over the pitch.

He has a chunky build so every time they foul him, it's his fault in the eyes of the ref. If he was English and played for Spurs he would get every call of course.
